Sea Moss and Irish moss are often confused, but are not the same thing. They are both a type of red algae and the technical name for Irish Moss is Chrondus crispus and Sea Moss is Gracilaria. We are selling gold sea moss, not irish moss. They offer similar health benefits, but are sourced from different areas and look different. Gold sea moss is from warmer waters, and Irish sea moss is from cold waters. Gold sea moss looks like yellow/brown noodles, and Irish moss has purple or blue fan like leaves.
