2-Pack Dandelion Herbal Extract, All Natural, Organic, 114 Proof, Made in Idaho
Dandelion is a thoroughly recognized and for its wealth of botanical uses as well as a long history of use in traditional herbal practices throughout the world. Even though dandelion is cultivated commercially, it literally grows just about everywhere on earth, in abundant quantities to boot. While dandelion is often times hardy and thrives in a variety of climates, it prefers moist soils lacking certain nutrients. The fresh wild-crafted dandelion flowers used in our extract are naturally cultivated in the Northern Panhandle of Idaho.
Taraxacum officinaleis a perennial weed with a sunny disposition that is comprised of hundreds of small yellow flowers, well shaped leaves that create a basal rosette as well as a thick taproot that is earthy on the outside and white on the inside.
As a part of the Asteraceae family, dandelion flowers close at dusk or during dark cloudy weather and opening again around dawn. much like one of its relatives Calendula. While Dandelion is naturalized all over the world, it is most commonly found growing alongside roads, abandoned fields and in lawns. But be careful, dandelions are often treated as a common weed and are often sprayed.
Dandelion was traditionally used in many systems of medicine to support digestive and gastrointestinal health.*
Young dandelion leaves are most often sought after for their tender bitter crunch as well as various vitamins & minerals that they add to salads, soups, and spring pestos. One hidden fact is that Dandelion leaves have more potassium in them than bananas. However, older leaves should either be sautéed and handled much like spinach or dried and made into a beverage such as tea or Dandelion Wine. Dandelion root is generally reaped in the Spring (sweeter but less stimulating effects) or Fall (bitter with more stimulating effects) and steeped into dandelion tea, mixed into herbal tea blends, made into dandelion extract, or infused into health & beauty recipes.
Our dandelion extract is made with wild-crafted flowers, Vodka (80 proof) & Grain Alcohol (114 proof), as well as Water.
