Hydrolates, also known as hydrosols or herbal and floral waters, are byproducts of the essential oils manufacturing process. During this process, herbs and flowers are distilled with spring water. The water is heated and passes through the plants in the form of steam, which collects the essential oils and other ingredients present. Essential oils floating on the surface of the water are removed, leaving behind a hydrolate that contains small amounts of the plant's essential oil and other water-soluble substances. Nothing else is added to our hydrolates/floral waters.
