Native to North America, Echinacea has a long history of use by the Native Americans. For centuries, it was used as a cure-all medicine, used internally and topically to treat many different ailments. As the first Europeans settlers came to the USA, they quickly adopted Echinacea as the same go-to medicine that was used by the Natives. It remained immensely popular throughout North America and began to spread to Europe in the late 1800’s. It became particularly popular in Germany, which led to a lot of the initial groundbreaking research into this plant taking place there.
Still today, Echinacea is popular throughout the entire world for many of the purposes it was originally used centuries ago. These are highlighted by but certainly not limited to its effects of strengthening the immune system, relieving pain, and providing antioxidant effects.
Echinacea is easily identifiable by its tall stems and pink or purple flowers that surround a large spiny cone. Echinacea Purpurea has been identified as the most effective species of Echinacea, although other species also have medicinal uses.
Active Ingredients:
Echinacea contains many active constituents that lend to its wide variety of medicinal uses. These include various polysaccharides, phenolic compounds, flavonoids, volatile oils, glycoproteins, and alkamides.

Dosage:
Typical dosage is 30 drops, 2 times per day as needed. Shake well prior to each use. Use under close supervision of a qualified licensed healthcare practitioner. in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Stop use immediately and contact your physician if unusual side effects occur.
How to take it?
Our tinctures contain 40% grain alcohol in order to preserve the quality of the solution. Since alcohol can have a rather offensive taste, we have a number of suggestions for how to ingest this:
•Place the drops directly under the tongue and chase with a small glass of water, juice, or any other fluid that may taste more pleasant
•Place the drops directly in an ounce or so of water or other fluid and drink that
•If serving to children under the age of 21, or if you want to avoid the harsh taste of the alcohol, you can either let the tincture sit out or heat it up on very low heat, until the alcohol evaporates (alcohol evaporates faster than water)
