Place the jar in a warm, sunny windowsill and shake once or more daily. After 4 to 6 weeks, strain the herbs out using cheesecloth.
Pour the infused oil into glass bottles and in a cool, dark place.

Ointment:
Calendula Ointment is prepared by boiling the dried petals, soaked in olive oil, in a water bath. The proportion is, the amount of flowers should be covered 1/3 with fat. Gradually the petals soften and sink completely into the olive oil. Let them cook for 10 minutes and remain covered until cool. Strain through cheesecloth, squeeze. The resulting amount of calendula oil extract is heated in a water bath with a lump of bee wax. If you have 100ml of fat, add wax the size of half a walnut. When it cools, you get the consistency of an ointment.
